INSPECTIONS: It is strongly recommended that all interested parties inspect each item thoroughly before an offer to purchase is submitted. Major or minor defects may or may not be noted. Other defects may exist and it is your responsibility to verify the functionality of each item listed.
The item may be inspected by appointment at the SMART Macomb Terminal, located at 22700 E. Fifteen Mile Road, Clinton Township, MI 48035. WARRANTY & LIABILITY: All items are sold “as is” and “where is,” without warranty, either expressed or implied. This means that the condition and the location are final and you are offering to purchase the item based on such. No warranties are offered. All sales are final, with SMART reserving the right to withdraw any item at any time from the auction.
SMART assumes no liability for inaccurate or erroneous descriptions contained in any descriptive material pertaining to the auctioned item; or for any subsequent use of the item.
PAYMENT REQUIREMENTS: All items purchased must be paid in full within 10 days and prior to pick-up or delivery. The winning bidder must either pay for the item in-person or may designate a representative who will pay for the item on the behalf of the winning bidder. Selecting another individual to complete payment requires the completion of a proxy sheet designating a representative who will make the payment. A proxy sheet will be provided to the winning bidder along with the invoice.
Payment must be made, by appointment only, at our Finance Department, located in the SMART Administrative Offices in the Buhl Building, 535 Griswold Street, Detroit, MI 48226. Payment is to be scheduled between the times of 9am-12pm and 12:30-3pm.Winning bidders that show up after 3pm will not be given an appointment. Please note, applicable Michigan sales tax will be charged on the sale. Payment is accepted in one of two forms: certified check or money order.
TAX EXEMPTION: Please note that if the successful bidder is tax-exempt, a tax exemption form will be required along with your payment.
PICK-UP INSTRUCTIONS: Once the item has been paid for, it is the winning bidder’s responsibility to transfer the title at the Michigan Secretary of State prior to pick up of the item. Only after the new title is acquired may the item leave SMART property. Items can be picked up by the winning bidder, by appointment only, at the SMART Hein Building located at 22700 E. Fifteen Mile Road, Clinton Township, MI 48035. The time available for appointments ranges between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment contact Dave Wilson, Material Control Administrator at (586) 421-6571 or email@example.com. The winning bidder must bring the receipt and/or a letter authorizing pick-up from the winning bidder to the terminal in order to pick up any items.
All items will be removed at the risk and expense of the purchaser. The item must be removed without SMART staff participation.
PICK-UP TIME LIMIT: If the items are not picked up within 10 working days after the auction expiration date and time, SMART reserves the right to retain the item and re-list it for auction and block the bidder from future auctions.
