INSPECTION OF VEHICLES: It is strongly recommended that all interested parties inspect each item thoroughly before an offer to purchase is submitted. Major and minor defects may or may not be noted. Other defects may exist and it is your responsibility to verify the functional ability of each item listed. Vehicles may be inspected that the City of Ferndale’s DPW Southwest Storage Yard, 901 Central St, Ferndale, MI 48220 between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. You must make an appointment prior to inspection. Appointments can be made with Dan Antosik at 248-546-2525 ex. 602 or dantosik@ferndalemi.gov. You will be required to check-in and provide your driver’s license prior to vehicle inspection. Test drives will not be permitted.
LIABILITY: All items are sold “as is” and “where-is” without warranty either expressed or implied (meaning the condition and the location is final and you are offering to purchase the item based on its current condition and location). No warranties are offered. If you are unclear about any condition of this Sale, you should contact Dan Antosik at 248-546-2525 ex. 602 or dantosik@ferndalemi.gov. All sales will be final. The City may withdraw an item at any time from the auction. The City of Ferndale assumes no liability for inaccurate or erroneous descriptions contained in any descriptive material pertaining to the auctioned equipment
PAYMENT: All vehicles purchased must be paid in full prior to pick-up. The City of Ferndale accepts cash, money orders, certified or cashiers checks and personal checks with a valid picture I.D. The City of Ferndale retains the right to hold all personal checks up to 15 business days to insure bank clearance. Payment will be made at The City of Ferndale DPW Offices which is located at 521 E. Cambourne St, Ferndale, MI 48220. Sales Tax of 6% will be added to the final sale amount.
TITLE: Titles will only be issued in the name(s) of the person or persons listed as the awarded bidder on the auction site of the company the bidder represents (with authorization). Without exception titles must list the aforementioned name, the selling price of the vehicle, the date and must be signed by both purchaser and the City Clerk’s Office. Per the Secretary of State, dealers can receive resale titles from any local Secretary of State office which will have no previous title information included.
PICK-UP: Once a vehicle has been paid for, vehicles can be picked up by the awarded bidder at the City of Ferndale’s DPW Southwest Storage Yard, 901 Central St, Ferndale, MI 48220 between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The awarded bidder must bring the title or a letter authorizing pick-up from the awarded bidder to the DPW in order to pick up any vehicles. All vehicles will be removed at the risk and expense of the purchaser. The items must be loaded without City staff participation.
PICK-UP TIME LIMIT: If the vehicles are not picked up within 10 business days after the auction expiration date and time, the City of Ferndale reserves the right to retain the vehicle and re-list it for auction and block the bidder from future auctions.
